So, today is day 21… and this marks the end of my Daniel Fast.  This evening I was spending time with some friends I reflected on how nice it felt to have made it 21 days, and as I shared about my experience I was reminded that the BIGGEST lesson that God has taught me during this fast is The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running (Ecclesiastes 9:11)

I have to say that one of the things that sticks out for me is that the urge or desire to eat the items that have been restricted for the past 21 days hasn’t gone away.  I still struggled today to not eat some of my kids buttered toast, but what I did learn and continue to embrace is the reality that if I choose to rely on God’s strength I can resist.  This has been what has kept me for 21 days.  This has been what has allowed me to make the choices that would allow me to follow through with my commitment to do the 21 day fast.

I am so happy to see that I’ve crossed the finish line, and accomplished the challenging task, and I now (as I said yesterday) feel so confident that with God I can TRULY do all things…

Tonight… I am thanking God for showing me all he has over the past 21 days, and I am excited to see the many lessons that are upcoming as the year progresses!

Goodnight and goodbye to my 21 day Daniel Fast
