Contentment

How in the world can I be content in all circumstances?  I really don’t believe I can, but I’ll try.  I’ll throw my heart into it and ask the Lord for his help. Hardships, losses, inconveniences, interruptions, relinquishments – I could name twenty things I have to work at to find contentment.  Maybe it won’t happen in some areas.  I don’t know.  I do know one thing: If I don’t want it, it will never come.

So yesterday as I was cleaning out some old paperwork etc. I found a devotional on Contentment that I had purchased, started, but never finished a few years ago.  Cultivating Contentment –Women of Faith Study Guide Series.

I got so excited because this is an area (Contentment) that has been on my heart and mind for a while now.  I agree with Luci that in order to acquire a place of contentment you have to WANT it!

I want it, and am committed to working at attaining that state of mind.  This week I’ll be writing on this issue.  If you’re interested in joining me on this journey let’s begin by asking yourself these questions:

  • Contentment…. Do I have it?
  • Do I want it?
  • What am I willing to do to get it?
