Today’s been great! It started out a bit on the slow side, and I must admit I was a bit sad to get out of bed, and face Day 2.  But after going grocery shopping, checking out some labels and finding a few food items that I actually found satisfying I began to think: ‘I can really do this!!’

Ok, so What is the Daniel Fast?

The Daniel fast is a spiritual fast intended to honour God and help to increase personal and spiritual discipline.  In the Bible Daniel fasted for 3 weeks “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. “I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:2, 3.

One of my goals for 2011 is to significantly increase my discipline and learn how to say NO to myself specifically with things I can too easily over indulge in (i.e. food, TV. spending, etc.).  Instead I want to be more intentional about what I spend my time, and energies doing.  I am trusting God for the strength and determination to get through this fast and to grow spiritually throughout the experience.

Wwwwwwoooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaah for the end of Day 2!!!!!
