When I look at an athlete who has just scored the winning goal, or has just crossed the finish line, the look I generally see is one of excitement… zeal… ecstasy… and pride (the good kind).
I was thinking about this the other day as I running on the treadmill, and I thought… you know when I feel like that?!?!?! After a really great work out! I mean my face doesn’t look like I just scored the winning goal of the team championship, but inside I feel so happy and proud of myself… and it’s a good feeling. It’s a feeling I think we need to feel more of in life.
So my wondering is… how often do people actually feel that way in their personal lives. Too often we allow the busyness of life to take over, and we lose sight of the little things that leave us feeling excited, ecstatic, and proud. If we do this to ourselves I think we are missing out BIG time on so much of what life has to offer.
So, my question to you is this:
- As yourself this question: What did I do this week that left me feeling ‘proud’ of myself?
If you are having a hard time answering this, that’s very unfortunate. So the next challenge is this:
- What one thing will you commit to working on this coming week that will leave you feeling proud of yourself?
